Walking Club Spring 2016 Walking Club and Weightloss Challenge

Darcy and I are excited to announce that we hope to start the Spring Walking Club the first week of May 2016. We are looking for some feedback from you in regards to which night works best for the majority. Please let us know if you are interested in joining us and if Wednesday or Thursday nights work best for you.

If you are new to our Walking Club Weight Loss Challenge, here is some information. 

We meet once a week at 7PM at our clinic (Belmont Natural Health Centre) and we start our walk (usually 5km and in the neighborhood here) by 7:15PM. We do some dynamic stretching half-way through the walk and static stretching at the end of the 5km.

Day: Wednesday or Thursday (TBD)

Duration: 8 weeks starting the first week of May 2016 – 1 hour sessions

Cost: Free + you can bring anyone you want with you 🙂

Weight Loss Aspect: We offer you the option of weighing in before each walking session. By the end of the 8 weeks, we calculate the total percent of weight loss and offer a gift certificate for services or products at our offices to the participant who loses the greatest percent of weight. If you attend at least 6 out of the 8 walking sessions, you qualify for this prize 🙂

* BIA testing: If you are working on a specific weight loss goal and you want professional advice, Dr. Arla Kasaj or Dr. Tom Daly are available to you for consultations and we can even use the BIA machine readings to give you more feedback about the changes that your body is experiencing as you improve your diet or increase your exercise levels. Each BIA reading costs $20+ tax and it is usually done once every 6-8 weeks. Please speak to me (Dr. Arla) about this and I can explain more.

You don’t need to walk at any particular pace and our group has grown to become quite large so there is usually someone walking at your pace that you may naturally pair up with. In addition, we will make sure that you never walk alone 🙂
